Projects » Ramadan Program 2017
The main objective of this project was to provide one-month food support during the holy month of Ramadan to the most vulnerable fasting people and conflict-affected families among the poorest IDP, refugees, and host communities including widows and orphans. Throughout the holy month of Ramadan Islamic Relief Iraq has distributed 7731 food packs to 7731 families, equivalent to 46,386 individuals in six governorates, in Iraq. Each food parcel included essential food items such as rice, oil, sugar, tea, beans, chick-peas, lentils, salt, canned beef, pasta, and tomato sauce. Each parcel was estimated to be enough for an average family of 5-6 members between 22 - 30 days. Islamic Relief has distributed Ramadan Food Basket in 6 governorates (Ninewa, Anbar, Erbil, Baghdad, Kirkuk, and Duhok) in Iraq.
